Is there a typical music therapy session:
Every music therapy session is different because the therapist responds in a unique way according to the creative direction and needs within each session.
- Opening, process work, closing
- Sessions are 30-60 minutes
- Scheduled weekly or bi-monthly
- Typical sessions vary based upon goals, unique individual needs, and musical preferences.
Goals in music therapy are based on individual’s life skill goals. Once the goals are established, then music therapy interventions and activities are designed to accomplish the goals.

Our board certified music therapist is specifically trained to use music for assessment, intervention, and measurable evaluation. All AMT services are provided by a board certified music therapist who has met all the educational and training standards for clinical practice in music therapy, this certification is granted by the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
