It’s Music Therapy Advocacy Month. “What a fun job!” That’s what I hear everyday when I tell people in the community what I do for a living. It really is! I get to sing, provide comfort, brighten people’s spirits, teach new skills, make new community connections, and all through the use of music. Amazing!
In the next few months, I am scheduling presentations to raise more awareness about music therapy. On March 20, 2013, I am speaking to the Superior Rotary Club at Barker’s Island in Superior, WI. at 11:45am. On a weekly basis, I attend a BNI (Business Networking International) group where I offer education and information about music therapy and AMT’s services. It has been a great way to increase MT awareness.
If you know of a group that would love to learn more about music therapy, please email me below. I would love to present!
Happy #MTadvocacy month

I use an iPad in my music therapy practice, so I definitely understood the benefits, and was happy to write the letter. They also had a letter from the speech therapist explaining the benefits from her point of view as well. In researching some information on the subject, I came across some great resources that I thought parents and other professionals who work with special needs children should know about. I will share them here… (more…)
